Empowering the Girl Child through Education and Hygiene Support

In support of the government’s ongoing efforts to remove barriers to female education, a special initiative has been implemented to expand learning opportunities for young girls across Ghana.

The initiative aims to empower the girl child through enhanced access to education and improved hygiene support.

As part of this programme, the District Chief Executive for the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Mrs. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, today distributed sanitary pads to students of Afia Kobi Apem Girls’ Senior High School at Atwima Trabuom in the Ashanti Region.

Addressing the students, Mrs. Asamoah encouraged them to take their academic pursuits seriously and to aim high in achieving their goals. She emphasized the critical role education plays in shaping a successful future and urged the girls to stay focused, disciplined, and determined.

This kind gesture is not only a step toward improving menstrual hygiene but also a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to promoting the welfare and academic advancement of the girl child.
