Kumasi fire outbreak:President Mahama pledges support for affected traders:

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged his support for traders affected by the devastating fire outbreak at Adum in Kumasi’s Central Business District, Ashanti Region. During his visit to the market, he expressed deep concern over the extent of the destruction and emphasized the need for better planning of markets across the country.

The fire outbreak, which occurred early Friday morning, destroyed several shops at the Kumasi Central Market, leaving traders distraught. President Mahama assured victims of immediate relief efforts and engaged the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to provide assistance to the affected traders.

He also called for an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is believed to have started around 5:00 am at the popular Blue Light Arena, near Hello FM.

The Ghana National Fire Service arrived with approximately five fire tenders, but some traders blamed the extensive damage on a delayed response from the fire service.
