Kumawu Unveils Hidden Waterfall on World Tourism Day

The Sekyere Kumawu District has celebrated World Tourism Day with the grand unveiling of newly discovered tourist attractions, including a spectacular waterfall that is expected to boost the area’s appeal as a tourism hub.

The event brought together government officials, tourism stakeholders, and traditional leaders who pledged their full support to developing the district’s untapped potential.

    DCE Rallies for Tourism Investment

District Chief Executive, Hon. Kwasi Amankwa, reaffirmed his commitment to making agriculture and tourism the pillars of Kumawu’s growth. He appealed to the President for assistance in developing the newly identified sites, stressing their potential to create jobs, drive revenue, and transform the local economy.

    Tourism Authority Assures Partnership

The Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr. Frederick Adjei-Randof, praised the district for taking bold steps in promoting tourism. He assured that the GTA will collaborate closely with Kumawu to fully develop and market its attractions.

    Chiefs Back Tourism Agenda

Representing the Paramount Chief, Barima Sarfo Tweneboah Kodua, traditional leader Nana Obeng Darko Acheampoma pledged the chiefs’ commitment to the tourism drive. He emphasized Kumawu’s rich cultural heritage, referencing the legendary site where Nana Dwenti fought against death, and urged government support to preserve history while boosting tourism.
