    Kwadaso Municipal Assembly Elects Ernest Frimpong As New Presiding Member

     

    The second term incumbent Assembly Member for Kwadaso proper electoral area, hon Ernest Frimpong has been elected as the new Presiding Member for Kwadaso Municipal Assembly of Ashanti Region.

    Ernest Frimpong, the newly elect Presiding Member of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, was elected in the first round of election after he received two thirds plus two votes of total valid votes cast as the law on the land requires.

     

    Two assembly members ran for the position of presiding member of the KdMA: Ernest Frimpong, assembly member for the Kwadaso proper electoral area, and Ofosu Agyemang, Assembly Member for Kwadaso Nsuom electoral area whiles the current presiding member Hon Kwaku Gyasi resigned from his office due to some undisclosed circumstance.

    Seven (7) Government Appointees, fifteen elected Assembly Members excluding the Municipal Chief Executive,Hon Agyenim Boateng who failed to vote.

    Announcing the results by the electoral commissioner Mrs Thelma F.Annan, the assembly Member for Kwadaso Nsuom electoral,Hon Ofosu Agyemang who placed second pulled four (4) votes out of total votes of twenty two (22) excluding the municipal chief executive whiles  Ernest Frimpong emerged winner as Kwadaso municipal Presiding member with eighteen (18) votes.
    The election recorded zero spoilt ballot.

    Mr Richmond Agyenim Boateng,the Municipal Chief Executive of Kwadaso congratulated the two candidates for their bold step.He again praised the the entire Municipal Assembly for a successful election in support of the development and admonished all members presents including technocrats to rally behind the newly elect Presiding Member in all aspects.

     

    Addressing the house,Hon Ernest Frimpong, the fresh Presiding Member elect expressed appreciation to the house especially, Assembly Members for given him such responsible nod to serve them for the next two years.

    He made a humble appealed to all assembly members to come out with new ideas to be able to improve Internal Generated fund(IGF) since it is the pillar of each Assembly.
