Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo, Chief of Agric Nsema, has unveiled a new traditional dance performed to the late music icon Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba)’s song titled “Adakatia” during a deeply emotional ceremony held at Wiamoase in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region.

The dance was instituted in honour of the cherished memories of his late mother and father, particularly the revered Nana Pin Owusu Ansah, whose legacy of leadership, cultural values, and service continues to inspire the people of Wiamoase and its surrounding communities.

The unveiling of the dance formed part of Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo’s annual donation exercise to widows, an initiative that has become a defining hallmark of his compassionate and people-centred leadership. Widows from Wiamoase and neighbouring communities received various forms of support, reaffirming his commitment to social responsibility and traditional values of care for the vulnerable.

Addressing the gathering, Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo explained that the dance goes beyond entertainment, noting that it symbolizes gratitude, remembrance, and the preservation of ancestral heritage.

According to him, the dance will serve as a lasting tribute to his late parents while also strengthening unity and cultural identity within the community.

The ceremony attracted traditional leaders, elders, cultural enthusiasts, youth groups, and residents, who witnessed spirited performances accompanied by drumming, singing, and emotional tributes.

The event not only highlighted the cultural richness of the Sekyere South District but also demonstrated how tradition can be harnessed to honour the past, uplift the vulnerable, and promote compassion within society.
