2024 Green Ghana Day: Bekwai District Forest Services  Poised to plant 38,000 trees

As Ghanaians are gradually approaching 2024 Green Ghana Day nationwide, Bekwai District Forestry Commission led by Mr Ernest Adofo,the District manager in the Ashanti region is poised to do their best in this year’s Green Ghana Day.

According to the Division Manager,Mr Ernest Adofo,the Bekwai District Forestry manager said,his outfit would plant 38,000 trees in degraded forest ,streams, catchment zones and other free lands for a greener tomorrow for the survival of the next generations.

The 2024 edition of the Green Ghana project is on the theme, “Growing for a Greener Tomorrow”.

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, at the launch of this year’s edition of Green Ghana Project said the country is planning to plant and grow at least 10 million(10,000000) trees to safeguard the forest and environment at large for the next generation.

The Green Ghana was first held on June 11, 2021 and this year’s Edition is slated for Friday 7th June,2024.

Mr Ernest Adofo, encouraged Ghanaians to be actively involved to safeguard the environment.

“Green Ghana Day is a project we should all embrace. The project is not only aimed at making the country green but it will also save lives. Let us use this opportunity to make our country greener and save lives and our planet” He said.

Going forward in preparation, Mr Ernest Adofo calls on the public to come for free seedlings as they have in stock of different species.

“Like other places across the country, we have different species and seedlings which are for free so I call on everyone in the district to come and take part.”

Bekwai district is ready to do their maximum best to be rated as 1st best District of 2024 Greening Ghana Project in Ghana and first (1st) in the Ashanti region as he encouraged the general public to actively participate in the upcoming Green Ghana project scheduled for Friday,7th June,to accomplish goals of Forestry Commission and government.
