    Esaso Erupts: Suspected Burglar Killed, Tricycles Torched After Failed Night Raid

    Chaos unfolded at Esaso in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region when a suspected thief was beaten to death and his two tricycles set on fire after a botched robbery attempt on Friday, November 7, 2025.

    His body was later discovered in a gutter, sparking alarm among residents.

    Eyewitnesses report that the deceased and four others allegedly stormed a construction site at night to steal building materials. Their operation quickly went sideways as some youth in the area confronted them. While four members of the gang escaped, one suspect was captured, subjected to severe mob assault, and killed on the spot.

    In anger, the mob reportedly burnt two tricycles believed to belong to the suspect.

    Police are yet to issue an official statement. The incident adds to a troubling wave of mob justice across Ghana, raising concerns over law-and-order enforcement and public safety.
