    Mpasatia Suspect Dies After Community Arrest

     

    A 27-year-old man has died after being apprehended by residents of Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region over allegations of stealing an aboboyaa (motorized tricycle).

    According to reports, the suspect, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was arrested by members of the community at about 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2026, in connection with the alleged theft.

    The suspect later died under circumstances that are yet to be officially established.

    The incident has been reported to the police, who are expected to investigate both the alleged theft and the events leading to the man’s death.

    Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of his family and the outcome of ongoing investigations.
