MTN Ghana Empowers 500 Students and Teachers with Bright Scholarships

MTN Ghana Foundation covers tuition,accommodation and academic expenses to ease financial burdens and expand educational opportunities nationwide.

Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has awarded scholarships to 500 beneficiaries, comprising 300 students and 200 teachers,under the MTN Bright Scholarship initiative of the MTN Ghana Foundation.

The initiative aims to support brilliant but needy students and teachers by easing financial constraints and enabling them to pursue their educational goals.

The scholarship package covers tuition fees,hostel accommodation and stipends for books and other academic needs for the entire duration of beneficiaries’ studies at public universities and other tertiary institutions across Ghana.

Speaking at the second cohort’s scholarship awards ceremony held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, MTN Ghana Senior Manager,Mr Robert Kuzoe,reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in Ghana’s future through education.

He emphasised that the Bright Scholarship initiative goes beyond financial assistance,describing it as an investment in the dreams,aspirations and potential of young Ghanaians.

According to Mr Kuzoe,MTN believes education is a critical foundation for national development and that financial difficulties should not prevent deserving individuals from achieving their academic ambitions.

He added that the initiative would continue to support brilliant but needy students,empowering them to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to society.

Mr Kuzoe further explained that beneficiaries were selected through a rigorous process involving assessments of academic performance,interviews and verification of financial need to ensure that the support reached deserving applicants.

Some beneficiaries who shared their experiences expressed profound gratitude to the MTN Ghana Foundation,describing the scholarship as a life-changing opportunity that would help them overcome financial challenges and concentrate on their studies.

Parents and guardians of the beneficiaries also commended the foundation for the initiative,noting that the scholarship would significantly reduce the financial burden associated with their wards’ education.

The MTN Bright Scholarship forms part of the MTN Ghana Foundation’s broader efforts to promote education,nurture talent and create opportunities for deserving individuals to contribute to Ghana’s development.
