A seven-bedroom residential building has been gutted by fire at Tanoso Electoral Area in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, near the Anglican Church.
The incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, leaving household items and other valuable properties in ruins.
Residents suspect that a gas explosion may have triggered the fire. However, the actual cause of the outbreak has not yet been officially established.

According to reports from residents, including the Assembly Member for Tanoso Electoral Area, Hon. Aaron Nandie, faulty fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment available in the surrounding area reportedly hampered initial efforts to contain the blaze.
Fire officers from Chirapatre later arrived at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control approximately one hour after it was reported.
Unfortunately, the intensity of the blaze reportedly destroyed household items and other properties, with virtually nothing salvaged from the building.
Meanwhile, the extent of the financial loss and whether the incident resulted in any casualties have yet to be confirmed.
Residents are awaiting further information as investigations into the cause of the fire are expected to establish what led to the devastating incident.
For further information, contact Hon. Aaron Nandie, Assembly Member for Tanoso Electoral Area, on 0591734105.
