A Nation’s Heart Breaks: MTN Ghana Pays Glowing Tribute to Fallen Leaders in Tragic Helicopter Crash

Telecom giant mourns with Ghana, urging unity, dignity, and compassion in honour of the departed leaders.

Ghana is draped in sorrow after a tragic helicopter crash robbed the nation of two of its most dedicated leaders — the Honourable Minister for Defence and the Honourable Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, along with six others who are feared to have perished in the disaster.

The heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves across the country, leaving families shattered, colleagues grieving, and an entire nation mourning the sudden loss of men and women who devoted their lives to public service.

In a deeply moving statement, MTN Ghana extended its condolences to His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Government, the people of Ghana, and every bereaved family touched by this unspeakable tragedy.

Chief Executive Officer Stephen Blewett spoke with compassion and urgency, calling for unity in the face of the nation’s pain:

“We appeal to all to honour the memories of the departed with dignity and to use their social media platforms to promote messages of hope, solidarity, and compassion.”

The telecom giant described the loss as a “painful blow to Ghana”, acknowledging the selfless contributions of the fallen and the gap their absence leaves in the country’s leadership.

As the nation gathers to grieve, MTN Ghana affirmed its solidarity with the people during this time of sorrow, offering a simple but powerful prayer:

“May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.”
