QUEENMOTHERS MUST LEAD CRUSADE AGAINST TEENAGE PREGNANCY & DRUG MENACE -BOMENGHENE

Lead War on Teenage Pregnancyand Drugs

The Chief of Bomeng in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwarteng Agyakumhene II, has called on queenmothers across the country to rise and use their authority to fight the growing challenges of teenage pregnancy and drug abuse among the youth.

Speaking at a grand durbar in Bomeng where Nana Abenaa Nantakyiwaa and Nana Abenaa Akyamaa were installed as Kontire Obaapanii and Gyaase Obaapanii respectively, the Chief urged them to become servant-leaders who inspire and protect rather than dominate their people.

He noted that queenmothers occupy a sacred space in community leadership and must therefore spearhead initiatives that safeguard the future of young girls from social vices that threaten their wellbeing.

The Queenmother of Bomeng, Nana Yaa Akyiaa I, advised the newly-installed leaders to show loyalty to the chief, elders, and people of Bomeng, emphasizing that unity and humility are the backbone of leadership.

In their acceptance address, the two queenmothers pledged to uphold integrity and honesty in their service to the people, promising to dedicate themselves to the progress of the community.
