The Amansie Homecoming Festival and Educational Fund was officially launched at the Yeguaa International Hotel in a colourful and memorable ceremony that brought together dignitaries, traditional authorities, community leaders, and natives from across the Amansie enclave and beyond.

The grand launch, which marked the dawn of a new era for the Amansie area, was graced by the representative of the Ashanti Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, and several prominent traditional rulers. Notable among them were the Paramount Chief of Essumeja, the Paramount Chief of Bekwai, and the Paramount Queen Mother of Adankranja, all of whom were present to support the initiative.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Justice Amoh, Nana Gyimah Wadieh Amoateng II commended the organisers for their vision in establishing a platform that simultaneously celebrates cultural heritage and promotes sustainable development. He urged citizens from Amansie, both home and abroad,to rally behind the initiative to ensure continuous progress in their communities.

“This festival is not just about celebration; it is about preserving our culture, promoting unity, and investing in the future of our children through education,” Nana Gyimah Wadieh Amoateng II.

Traditional leaders in attendance echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the importance of the festival as a catalyst for cultural preservation, economic empowerment, and human development. They called on all natives of the area to support the festival’s long-term vision and contribute generously to the sustainability of the newly launched Educational Fund.

A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the Amansie Educational Fund, an ambitious initiative aimed at supporting brilliant-but-needy students across the Amansie Traditional Areas. The Fund will provide scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of academic assistance to empower young learners, nurture future leaders, and promote human capital development.

Guests were treated to captivating displays of traditional drumming and dancing, cultural exhibitions, and Amansie’s rich culinary heritage. The atmosphere brimmed with excitement, cultural pride, and a renewed sense of community.

In his closing remarks, the Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai praised the launch of the Fund, describing it as a timely intervention aligned with the government’s agenda of promoting education and local development. He pledged the Assembly’s commitment to support the Fund and ensure the success of future festival editions.

The event was organised by Idea 234 and Consult Ltd, in collaboration with Oyerepa TV and Yeguaa International Hotel. It is part of a series of activities leading up to the main Amansie Homecoming Celebration, which is expected to become one of the most significant cultural events in the Ashanti Region this year.

With this launch, the people of Amansie have reaffirmed their commitment to preserving rich traditions, investing in education, and building a united community for generations to come.
