Amansie Central DCE Reaffirms NDC Government’s Commitment to Empower Persons with Disabilities

Beneficiaries Receive Cash and Essential Items to Support Healthcare, Education and Livelihoods at Jacobu
The District Chief Executive for Amansie Central,Honourable Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, has reaffirmed the NDC government’s commitment to improving the welfare of persons with disabilities through economic empowerment and social intervention programmes.
Speaking during the presentation of the Persons with Disability Common Fund at Jacobu,the DCE said the government remains committed to reducing the burden on persons with disabilities by providing financial and material support to improve their quality of life.
The beneficiaries received cash grants and various items to support their healthcare, education and income-generating activities.
Honourable Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang urged the beneficiaries to make prudent use of the support to improve their livelihoods,stressing that responsible use of the funds and items would encourage continued assistance and create opportunities for more persons with disabilities to benefit from the fund or initiative .
Meanwhile,the Chairman of the Social Services Sub-Committee of the Amansie Central District Assembly,Honourable Simon Kwadwo Antwi,appealed to Assembly Members to assist persons with disabilities in their respective electoral areas to go through the required application process to access the fund.
He described the Disability Common Fund as a national resource meant for all eligible persons with disabilities and urged Assembly Members to ensure that no qualified beneficiary is left out.
The presentation forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive development, improve the welfare of persons with disabilities and support their active participation in the socio-economic development of the Amansie Central District.
