The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander in charge of Operations,ACP Kwame Somian, has called on the general public, particularly residents of the Ashanti Region,to strengthen their support for the Ghana Police Service in the fight against crime and other security challenges.

According to ACP Somian, security is a shared responsibility that requires the collective efforts of the police, traditional authorities, local government, businesses and residents to ensure effective protection of lives and property.

He made the call at Maase in the Afigya Kwabre South District during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of an ultra-modern district police station.

ACP Somian stressed that the police alone cannot effectively combat crime without the active cooperation and support of the communities they serve.

He therefore urged residents to provide relevant information to the police, cooperate with security agencies and support initiatives aimed at improving security infrastructure across the region.

MP CALLS FOR SUPPORT FOR POLICE PROJECT

The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre South,Hon. Damata Ama Appianimaa Salam, also appealed to residents of Maase and surrounding communities to rally behind the police station project.

She said the facility would contribute significantly to improving security in the area and help protect lives, businesses and property.

The MP urged the people to see the project as a collective investment in the safety and development of the community.

    SECOND POLICE STATION

The Otumfour Dabihene,Nana Appiagyei Odanka, pledged to deepen his contribution to development by embarking on the construction of a second police station project.

He called for support from individuals, businesses and organisations, stressing that development could not be achieved by one person alone.

Nana Appiagyei Odanka encouraged the public to contribute towards development projects through financial or material support to ensure their successful completion.

He said the construction of police facilities was crucial to creating a safer environment for residents and businesses.

The sod-cutting ceremony therefore marks another step towards strengthening security infrastructure in the Afigya Kwabre South area with stakeholders expressing optimism that the project will enhance police visibility, response to crime and community safety.
