MTN Ghana and MobileMoney Fintech Lead Conversations on Africa’s Digital Finance Future at 3i Africa Summit 2026
MobileMoney Fintech Limited and MTN Ghana are set to play leading roles at the 2026 edition of the 3i Africa Summit 2026, positioning Accra as a major centre for conversations on Africa’s digital finance future.
The summit, scheduled for May 6 to May 8 at the Destiny Arena, is expected to bring together key players within the fintech ecosystem, including policymakers, regulators, investors, innovators, and development partners from across the continent.
Held under the theme “The Next Frontier: Shaping Africa’s Integrated FinTech Future,” the event will focus on building a more connected, secure, and inclusive digital financial system for Africa.

A major highlight of the opening session will be a fireside conversation featuring Ralph Mupita, President and Chief Executive Officer of MTN Group. The discussion will centre on “The Future of Digital Finance in Emerging Markets,” exploring how African economies are leveraging digital infrastructure to expand financial access and drive broader economic participation.

Also expected to contribute to high-level engagements is Ebenezer Twum Asante, Senior Vice President for MTN Group WECA. His participation will focus on the growing role of mobile money ecosystems, embedded finance solutions, and telecom-led digital platforms in deepening financial inclusion across Africa.

Representing MobileMoney Fintech Limited, Chief Executive Officer Shaibu Haruna is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on “Strengthening Consumer Protection in High-Velocity Credit & Banking Markets.” His presentation is expected to emphasise the importance of protecting users as digital credit and mobile banking services continue to expand rapidly in emerging markets.

Further enriching discussions at the summit, Adoma Owusu, General Manager for Fintech Business Development & Expansion at MTN Group Fintech, will participate in a panel session titled “Beyond Trading: Creating Real Utility in Africa.” The session will examine how virtual assets and digital innovations can support practical applications in payments, financing, and service delivery.

Additional executive representation from both organisations will include Sylvia Otuo Acheampong and Angela Mensah-Poku, who are expected to moderate and facilitate several key sessions during the three-day summit.
Now in its third year, the 3i Africa Summit has evolved into a significant continental platform built around Innovation, Investment, and Impact. This year’s edition is expected to move beyond policy conversations toward practical implementation strategies in areas such as artificial intelligence, open banking, tokenisation, virtual assets, and digital public infrastructure.

The active participation of MobileMoney Fintech Limited and MTN Ghana underscores their commitment to promoting responsible fintech innovation while supporting inclusive and sustainable digital economic growth across Africa.
