Gideon Boako Supports 2,200 Tano North SHS Entrants With Educational Materials
Samira Bawumia urges Ghanaians to invest in education as MP calls for continuity beyond partisan politics

The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Hon.Dr. Gideon Boako,has supported about 2,200 newly admitted Senior High School students in the constituency with essential educational materials to ease the financial pressure on parents and guardians.
The beneficiaries received chop boxes,school bags,scientific calculators and exercise books at a programme held in Duayaw Nkwanta,aimed at supporting students as they transition from Junior High School to Senior High School.
Former Second Lady of Ghana,Her Excellency Samira Bawumia,who attended the programme,called for greater investment in education,describing it as a key pathway to reducing poverty and creating opportunities for young people.
She urged the students to remain focused, choose their friends carefully and avoid negative peer influence,while commending Dr. Boako for supporting families at a critical stage of their children’s education.
Dr. Boako, in explaining the motivation behind the initiative,described it as “a dream come true,” recalling the financial difficulties he faced as a young student.
According to him,the assistance he received from family members and individuals during his own educational journey inspired him to support other young people who may be facing similar challenges.
The Tano North MP also called for education to be protected from excessive partisan politics, arguing that policies and programmes that benefit Ghanaian students should be sustained regardless of changes in political administration.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to work hard,remain disciplined and eventually become a source of support to others.
Parents,traditional leaders and residents expressed appreciation for the intervention, saying the items would help reduce some of the immediate costs associated with preparing children for SHS.
The beneficiaries also thanked Dr. Boako and pledged to make good use of the materials and pursue their education with determination.
Dr. Boako expressed appreciation to H.E. Samira Bawumia,Nananom,the clergy,education authorities,parents,students and other stakeholders for supporting the initiative.
