Kingston Opoku Bediako Calls for Peace Ahead of NDC Constituency Elections

Secretary hopeful urges delegates to protect party’s image and avoid violence

As the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) begins preparations towards the election of new constituency executives ahead of the 2028 general elections,an aspiring Constituency Secretary for the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency,Kingston Opoku Bediako,has appealed to party delegates and supporters to uphold peace and unity throughout the electoral process.
Mr.Opoku Bediako urged delegates to refrain from violence,personal attacks and any conduct that could undermine the unity and public image of the NDC.
According to him, the internal elections should be conducted in an atmosphere of peace,mutual respect and healthy competition,stressing that the party’s strength depends largely on the unity and discipline of its members.
He noted that the NDC should not allow its internal electoral activities to qdegenerate into confrontations or actions that could give political opponents the opportunity to portray the party negatively.
“Violence should have no place in our internal elections.We must conduct ourselves in a manner that protects the image and integrity of the NDC,” he said.
Mr.Opoku Bediako made the call at Twedie after successfully going through the vetting process for the position of Constituency Secretary.
He expressed appreciation to the Vetting Committee for giving him the opportunity to present his credentials and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the party at the constituency level if given the mandate by delegates.
He further called on all aspirants and their supporters to see the internal elections as an opportunity to strengthen the party rather than create divisions among members.
He stressed that regardless of individual interests and differences,the collective interest of the NDC should remain paramount.
Mr. Opoku Bediako therefore encouraged delegates to exercise restraint,respect one another and allow the electoral process to proceed peacefully as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
