NDC POLLS: “VIOLENCE SHOULD BE A THING OF THE PAST”-JABARI TELLS ASPIRANTS
Atwima Kwanwoma Chairmanship Hopeful Urges Delegates and Supporters to Reject Insults, Intimidation and Personal Attacks

An aspiring Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Mr. Solomon Jabari, has called on all aspirants, delegates and supporters to promote peace, unity and tolerance as the party prepares for its upcoming constituency-level elections.
Mr. Jabari made the appeal on Friday, September 25, 2026, after successfully going through the vetting process for the chairmanship contest.
Following the vetting exercise, Mr. Jabari was placed at Number One on the ballot paper for the chairmanship race.
Speaking after the exercise, he stressed that violence, insults, intimidation and personal attacks should have no place in the internal democratic processes of the NDC.
He urged all aspirants and their supporters to focus their campaigns on their vision, policies and programmes for the constituency rather than engaging in activities that could create tension and division among party members.
“Violence should be a thing of the past,”Mr. Jabari said.
According to him, the constituency elections should provide an opportunity for aspirants to present their ideas and demonstrate how they intend to strengthen the party at the grassroots and contribute to its development.
He therefore encouraged his fellow contestants to use the campaign period to explain their programmes and plans to delegates and allow them to make their choices freely without intimidation or undue pressure.
Mr. Jabari also emphasized the importance of unity among party members, noting that irrespective of the outcome of the elections, all aspirants and their supporters would continue to belong to the same political family.
He consequently appealed to delegates and supporters to respect one another, remain calm and contribute to ensuring that the constituency elections are conducted in a peaceful, transparent and democratic manner.
Obiri Boahen Advocates Freedom of Expression
Meanwhile, an aspiring Vice Chairman of the NDC in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Mr. Obiri Boahen, has called for an environment where party members can freely express their views without intimidation.
Mr. Boahen said allowing members to openly express or air their views was essential to promoting peace, unity and cohesion within the party.
He noted that party members should be given the opportunity to share their concerns, opinions and ideas openly, saying such an approach could encourage constructive engagement and contribute to strengthening the party’s internal structures.
Mr. Boahen further urged all aspirants and their supporters to respect one another and avoid actions or utterances that could create unnecessary tension among party members.
The appeals by the two aspirants come as the NDC prepares for its constituency-level elections, with contestants expected to engage delegates and present their respective visions and programmes for the development of the party in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency.
Mr. Jabari reiterated that his ambition to lead the constituency was motivated by his desire to contribute to building a stronger, more united and grassroots-oriented NDC in Atwima Kwanwoma.
He urged all party members to protect the unity, peace and reputation of the NDC before, during and after the elections.
