The Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, Kingsley Nyarko, has taken a significant step toward advancing digital education by donating modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to two basic schools in the Kwadaso Municipality.

The beneficiary schoolsAtwima Amanfrom Basic School and Central Agric Basic School, each received 15 desktop computers, 16 desks, 32 chairs, alongside a projector and projection screen to fully equip their newly refurbished ICT laboratories.

The facilities were officially commissioned on Monday, March 30, 2026, during separate ceremonies attended by traditional leaders, education officials, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders.

Among dignitaries present were the Deputy Municipal Education Director, Mr. Lious Boakye, and a representative of the Municipal Chief Executive, Eric Assibey.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony at Atwima Amanfrom Basic School, Prof. Nyarko revealed that the intervention followed a request from the school’s headmistress, Madam Julieth Serwaa Boateng. He noted that despite the school’s long-standing history, it had never benefited from ICT infrastructure.

Highlighting the importance of technology in today’s educational landscape, the MP stressed that digital access is crucial for national development.

“No country can make progress when we deny our learners these facilities,” he emphasized.

Prof. Nyarko reaffirmed his commitment to expanding educational infrastructure across the constituency, with a strong focus on improving access to ICT facilities in underserved schools.

Madam Julieth Serwaa Boateng expressed profound gratitude for the support, describing it as a historic breakthrough for the school. She disclosed that the institution had operated for over 65 years without an ICT laboratory, noting that the new facility would significantly enhance teaching and learning.

She, however, appealed for further assistance, including a photocopier machine and fencing to improve security on the school premises.

At Central Agric Basic School, headmistress Madam Abigail Adjei also commended the MP for the intervention, stating that her school had similarly lacked ICT equipment since its establishment.

She described the newly commissioned lab as the first of its kind under her administration and a major milestone in the school’s development.

According to her, the facility will expose students to modern learning tools, fostering innovation and creativity, while also improving teaching delivery.

Madam Adjei further highlighted Prof. Nyarko’s consistent support over the years, citing previous interventions such as the distribution of school uniforms in 2024, donation of library books in 2025, and now the establishment of the ICT laboratory in 2026.

She praised the MP as hardworking, visionary, supportive, and selfless, noting his unwavering commitment to improving education in the constituency.

A representative of the Municipal Chief Executive urged school authorities to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment and maximize its use to sustain its long-term impact.

The donation forms part of Prof. Nyarko’s broader initiative to promote digital literacy and enhance educational outcomes across the Kwadaso Municipality, positioning students to compete effectively in an increasingly technology-driven world.
