As preparations intensify towards the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), a renowned journalist with Wontumi Multimedia, Samuel Ofori Boateng, has stepped in with a major intervention to support final-year students in the Ashanti Region.

In a significant show of commitment to education and youth empowerment, Mr. Ofori Boateng donated a large quantity of mathematical sets to the Sir King Foundation at Asante Bekwai. The items, valued at millions of Ghana cedis, are aimed at equipping BECE candidates, particularly those from deprived communities, with essential examination tools.

The donation forms part of his annual philanthropic initiative, which has consistently supported students across various schools in the region. His efforts are geared towards ensuring that no candidate is disadvantaged during examinations due to lack of basic learning materials.

Receiving the items on behalf of the foundation, the Chief Executive Officer, Osei Mensah King Foster, expressed profound appreciation for the gesture. He commended Mr. Ofori Boateng for his unwavering dedication to supporting education and investing in the future of young learners.

“This intervention is not only timely but impactful. It will go a long way to ease the burden on students and their families as they prepare for a critical stage in their academic journey,” he noted.

Mr. King Foster further revealed that the foundation has rolled out a strategic initiative dubbed “One Student, One Mathematical Set”, designed to complement such donations and ensure that every BECE candidate under their outreach is fully equipped.

He emphasized that collaborations with individuals like Mr. Ofori Boateng are crucial in advancing the foundation’s mission of improving access to quality education and boosting academic performance among students in the Ashanti Region.

Known for his strong advocacy for community development, Mr. Ofori Boateng has over the years championed several educational support programmes, reinforcing his reputation as a media practitioner deeply committed to societal impact.

The donation is expected to significantly boost the confidence and preparedness of beneficiary students as they gear up for the 2026 BECE, offering renewed hope and a level playing field for all candidates.
