MTN Ghana Foundation Unveils Heroes of Change Season 8
Ghanaians Invited to Nominate Everyday Change-Makers
Outstanding individuals transforming lives through Education,Health and Economic Empowerment could win up to GH¢400,000
The MTN Ghana Foundation has officially opened nominations for the 8th edition of its Heroes of Change initiative,calling on Ghanaians to shine a spotlight on individuals whose selfless efforts are creating lasting and meaningful change in communities across the country.
Nominations for Heroes of Change Season 8 will remain open until October 19, 2026,with the public encouraged to nominate deserving individuals whose work demonstrates measurable and sustainable impact in Education, Health and Economic Empowerment.
Nominations can be submitted through the MTN Ghana website or at any MTN Service Centre nationwide.
The initiative, which celebrates people who dedicate themselves to improving the lives of others,is built around the belief that ordinary citizens can achieve extraordinary results through commitment, compassion and service to their communities.
Up to GH¢400,000 for the Overall Winner
The overall winner of Season 8 will receive GH¢400,000, while winners in each of the three categories will receive GH¢200,000 to help strengthen, sustain and expand their initiatives.
In addition, nominators whose nominees emerge among the 10 finalists will receive prizes,while special recognition will be given to outstanding contributions in Sustainability and Digital Innovation.
Speaking on the initiative,Adwoa Wiafe,Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN Ghana, said Heroes of Change was created to recognise individuals whose often-unnoticed acts of service are making a significant difference in the lives of others.
According to her,the initiative seeks to bring greater visibility and support to people who serve their communities without necessarily expecting recognition or financial reward.
She said Season 8 provides another opportunity to identify and support individuals whose work is generating sustainable impact while inspiring others to contribute positively to society.
Part of MTN Ghana’s 30th Anniversary Celebration
This year’s Heroes of Change initiative forms part of MTN Ghana’s 30th anniversary celebrations and reflects the company’s “Force for Good” philosophy, which focuses on leveraging its resources, partnerships and platforms to contribute to meaningful social and national development.
Over the years, the Heroes of Change programme has recognised Ghanaians who have taken up various social challenges and worked to improve conditions within their communities.
Through recognition, visibility and financial support, beneficiaries of the initiative have been given opportunities to deepen and expand the impact of their projects and community interventions.
The MTN Ghana Foundation is therefore urging individuals, communities and organisations across the country to identify and nominate deserving heroes whose dedication and service are helping to transform lives.
Nominations close on October 19, 2026.
