“No Insults,No Personal Attacks”-Iddrisu Yussif Calls for Unity and Discipline in Atwima Mponua NDC Chairmanship Race
Team Commander leader and two-term Constituency Youth Organizer urges delegates to support a united, disciplined and peaceful campaign
Atwima Mponua, Ashanti Region-Iddrisu Yussif,popularly known as Oboye and leader of Team Commander, has appealed to delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Mponua Constituency to support his bid to become the next Constituency Chairman.
Speaking after undergoing the party’s vetting process at the constituency office at Agogoso, Mr. Yussif said his decision to contest the chairmanship position is driven by his desire to continue serving the party and contribute to strengthening its structures at the constituency level.
Having served as the NDC Constituency Youth Organizer for two terms, he said he brings experience from his previous role and is prepared to take on what he described as a greater responsibility if given the mandate.
Unity at the Heart of His Campaign
Mr.Yussif said a major focus of his campaign is to promote unity among party members, address internal challenges through dialogue and encourage collective efforts towards the party’s objectives in the constituency.
He called on delegates and party supporters to work together despite differences that may emerge during the internal contest.
According to him, a united party structure will be essential to the NDC’s efforts to strengthen its presence and pursue the parliamentary seat in the Atwima Mponua Constituency.
Appeal for a Peaceful Campaign
The chairman hopeful also used the occasion to caution supporters of both Team Commander and Team Kutu to conduct themselves with discipline throughout the campaign.
He urged supporters to refrain from insults, personal attacks, provocation and other forms of misconduct that could create divisions among party members.
Mr.Yussif stressed that the internal contest should not permanently divide party members,urging all aspirants and their supporters to maintain mutual respect and allow delegates to exercise their choice peacefully.
Other Aspirants Seek Delegates’ Support
Meanwhile, other aspirants contesting on the Team Commander ticket have also appealed to delegates to support their respective bids.
The aspirants expressed confidence in their leadership abilities and pledged to serve the party and constituency if given the mandate.
The ongoing contest is expected to provide delegates with an opportunity to consider the respective visions, experience and plans presented by the various aspirants ahead of the constituency elections.
