Chief Give Land To GBC For Agricultural College

The gesture according the chief of Ejura, Barimah Osei Hwedie II is also geared towards contributing to efforts by government to improving food security in the country

Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II and his Elders on Monday June 17, 2024 presented a draft documents on the land to the leadership of the Ghana Baptist Convention.

The documents covers the site plan and agreement between the two parties and the use of the land, and would be signed after both parties agree to the terms

Call for development

Barimah Osei Hwedie II used the occasion to appeal to the GBC to immediately begin working on the land

He noted that, construction of a tertiary institute dedicated for agriculture related studies will not only help Ejura but Ghana as a whole

Delegation from GBC


A high profile delegation from the Ghana Baptist Convention GBC were present during the official handing over of the document.


The team was lead by the Executive Vice-President of GBC, Reverend Charlse Oppong Poku , with the President for Ministers Confrence, GBC, Reverend Dr Charlse Owusu Ampofo, Head of Mid- Ghana Sector, GBC, Reverend Anthony Owusu Ampofo and other members present

Appreciation

Reverend Oppong Poku after receiving the documents on behalf of the church thank Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II for the kind gesture

“Thank you Nana, we understand perfectly that you have given us not just a land but whole community, which we have already named it Ghana Baptist University, and we will see to it that the community serves the perceived purpose ”

He however assured the chief’s that, GBC has set up a team to develop the land, adding that, the church will not only build a morden school to train the youth but will also engage in large scale farming to boost food security in the country.

Tour of the land

After the brief handing over ceremony at Ejurahene’s Palace, the chiefs together with the delegation for GBC went to tour the land

Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II during the tour said they have officially handed over the land to the church although the church was yet to fulfill all the obligations including the paper works

He encouraged them to swiftly go through the agreement and come for the final signing of the paper, that notwithstanding, Barimah Osei Hwedie II said the church can begin building the school if they are ready.
