    Atwima Kwanwoma;18 year old girl murdered at Nweneso number two


    A tragic incident occurred in Nweneso number two, a farming community in Atwima Kwanwoma municipal, where an 18-year-old girl named Ruth Afia Acheampong was brutally murdered with severe head injuries inflicted with a cutlass. The incident happened on April 12, 2025, at around 1:00 pm while the community was attending a funeral.

    According to Hon. Freduah Agyeman, the Assembly member for Nweneso number two, the circumstances surrounding the murder are still unclear. However, the community has identified a suspect, who was reportedly smoking in front of the house when the brother of the deceased, Henry Acheampong, stepped outside.

    Investigation Status:

    – The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
    – The general public is urged to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation.

    The community is in shock, with residents expressing outrage and sadness over the tragic loss of the young life. The police are working to apprehend the perpetrator(s) and bring them to justice.


    In a similar incident in the Ashanti Region, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered at Anwiankwanta in September 2023. The victim was picked up by individuals in a vehicle who offered to drop her off at her home, but her lifeless body was discovered in an uncompleted building. The police launched an investigation, and residents are calling for justice.
