The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, has rolled out a bold vision to position the Otaakrom Technical and Vocational Institute as a beacon of technical excellence under the Ghana TVET Service.

His pledge came to life during a brief but impactful ceremony, where he donated 14 packets of roofing sheets to support the school’s ongoing infrastructure projects.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Osei Akoto acknowledged the unwavering role of traditional leaders (Nananoom) and philanthropists in sustaining education across the constituency.

He emphasized that government alone cannot solve the enormous gaps in educational infrastructure:

“The time has come for us all to see education as a shared responsibility. When we invest in our children’s future, we invest in the prosperity of our community,” he noted.

    Driving Infrastructure and Modern Resources

The MP assured students and staff that his tenure will prioritize infrastructure upgrades and resource mobilization. His lobbying efforts, he explained, will seek to bring in modern classrooms, well-equipped workshops, and cutting-edge teaching tools to ensure Otaakrom Technical Institute becomes a model centre of learning.

He underscored that technical and vocational training remains the backbone of Ghana’s skilled manpower needs and essential for sustainable national growth.

    Inspiring the Future Leaders

Speaking directly to students, Hon. Osei Akoto urged them to embrace discipline and hard work.

“You are the future leaders of our land. Abide by the rules, take your education seriously, and see yourselves as role models who will inspire others to follow in your footsteps,” he encouraged.

He reminded them that education is both a personal advantage and a gift for future generations.

    Teachers as Torchbearers of Knowledge

Turning to teachers, the MP praised their vital role in shaping society:

“Your impact is beyond measure, and though your rewards may not always be immediate, heaven keeps record,” he assured.

He described teachers as ambassadors of knowledge whose work influences not just classrooms but the destiny of the entire nation.

    A New Dawn for Otaakrom

The Otaakrom Technical Institute has long offered opportunities for youth across Atwima Mponua, but inadequate infrastructure has often slowed its progress. The roofing sheets donation, though modest, has rekindled hope in the community especially during rainy seasons when leaking roofs disrupt lessons.

Students and staff welcomed the gesture with excitement, viewing it as a sign of brighter days ahead.

    Charting a Shared Future

Hon. Seth Osei Akoto’s vision reflects more than just politics it signals a collaborative approach to education, where government, traditional leadership, philanthropists, and the community unite.

With this shared commitment, the Otaakrom Technical and Vocational Institute is well on its way to becoming a hub of skills, knowledge, and innovation, producing graduates who can thrive in Ghana’s fast-evolving economy.
