The Atwima Kwanwoma District Chief Executive (DCE), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has extended vital livelihood equipment to Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) as part of a broader push to strengthen economic inclusion in the district.
Beneficiaries were supported with fufu-pounding machines, block moulding machines, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, and other vocational tools tailored to their income-generating trades. The initiative underscores the Assembly’s commitment to equipping PWDs with practical resources that enhance independence and improve their quality of life.
Addressing beneficiaries at the presentation ceremony, the DCE reiterated that expanding opportunities for vulnerable groups remains central to the Assembly’s development agenda.
Supporting the call, Social Services Convener Hon. Peter Gyau applauded the determination of the beneficiaries and encouraged them to make full use of the items. He noted that the investment forms part of a deliberate strategy to build a more resilient and economically active district.
Hon. Gyau further appealed to community members to rally behind the beneficiaries, stressing that collective support is crucial for sustaining livelihoods and preserving the dignity of all residents.
Grateful recipients thanked the Assembly for the intervention and pledged to put the equipment to productive use for their personal and community development.
