The District Chief Executive for Amansie Central District, Hon. Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang, popularly known as Pedro, has outlined a number of development projects undertaken within one year under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama. His remarks were made during the “Thank You Tour” spearheaded by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Hon. Agyemang highlighted key interventions aimed at improving the living standards of residents across the district. He cited the construction of drainage systems in Jacobu to curb perennial flooding, the development of new classroom blocks to strengthen education, and ongoing road reshaping works to improve transportation and connectivity within the area.

According to the DCE, access to clean water has been significantly enhanced through the installation of 23 boreholes in various communities. He added that a youth apprenticeship programme has also been introduced to equip young people with practical skills, thereby addressing unemployment and promoting self-reliance among the youth.

He assured residents that the government remains committed to delivering on its campaign promises, emphasizing that additional job creation initiatives are in the pipeline. Hon. Agyemang stressed that these efforts demonstrate the administration’s dedication to driving sustainable development in the district.

Despite these achievements, the Chief of Jacobu, Nana Adu Darko III, has expressed concern over a number of abandoned projects and the poor state of infrastructure in the area. He described the situation as worrying and called for urgent intervention to address the challenges confronting the community.

Nana Adu Darko III specifically pointed to the stalled AstroTurf project and an uncompleted public toilet facility, noting that their abandonment has deprived residents of essential social and recreational amenities. He emphasized that the completion of these projects would significantly improve the quality of life in the community.

The chief also raised alarm over the deplorable condition of roads in Jacobu, which he said continues to hinder economic activities. Farmers, he explained, face difficulties transporting their produce to markets, while residents struggle to access healthcare and educational facilities, particularly during the rainy season.

He therefore appealed to the government, the District Assembly, and other relevant stakeholders to take immediate steps to complete the abandoned projects and rehabilitate the road network to boost development in the area.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, expressed profound gratitude to constituents of Odotobri Constituency for their overwhelming support during the party’s campaign.

Addressing the gathering,Mr.Asiedu Nketiah assured residents that their development challenges would be addressed under the NDC government. He pledged that all stalled and ongoing projects in the constituency would be completed to improve living conditions.

He further urged constituents to reconsider their voting choices, cautioning against supporting political parties that fail to deliver on their promises after gaining power. He encouraged continued trust in the NDC, stressing that the party remains committed to improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah reaffirmed that the needs of the Odotobri Constituency will be prioritized, assuring residents that concrete measures will be implemented to ensure that all promised initiatives are fully realized.
