The Kuntenase Traditional Council has recently undergone significant leadership changes, including the destoolment of Chairman Wontumi darling boy,the Odikro of Dwenase, Nana Owusu Kutri Ampem, by the Paramount Chief. Alongside,two other sub-chiefs have been suspended and distooled by Barima Amankwah Adunan Ababio for demonstrating gross disrespect to Asanteman and engaging in several scandal.
In recent times,Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene destooled several chiefs for various reasons.
These actions demonstrate the efforts of traditional authorities to maintain accountability and uphold customary norms within their jurisdictions.
The destoolment of Nana Owusu Kutri Ampem as the Odikro of Dwenase is attributed to several serious allegations,including,Land-related fraud, Accusations of misconduct in land dealings,allegations of misusing his position for personal gain.The other accusation is breach of established customs and traditions.
Imposition of a false ban on goat rearing,A decree that allegedly led to the confiscation and slaughter of 32 goats belonging to residents, with the Odikro accused of benefiting personally.
The destoolment of Odikro is accompanied by the indefinite suspension of two sub chiefd,the Benkumhene and the Ntotoehene,for alleged involvement and failure to act.
These charges highlight concerns about accountability and the responsible exercise of power within traditional leadership.
The Omanhene’s spokesperson, Kyeame Nana Gyamfi Kumanin, emphasized a zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, highlighting the importance of accountability and preserving traditional customs. Key points include:

This statement underscores the traditional council’s dedication to integrity and responsible leadership.
The Oyoko Royal Family of Kuntenase-Dwenase, to which the former Odikro belongs, has endorsed the Omanhene’s decision. Speaking on behalf of the family, elder Kwabena Ameyaw said the move was in the best interest of the community.
We welcome this action. It restores dignity to our royal house and assures the people that leadership must be earned through service, not manipulation,” Mr. Ameyaw remarked.
Residents of Dwenase have largely applauded the bold step, viewing it as an opportunity to rebuild trust between traditional authorities and the people they serve.
