The Ashanti South Regional Police Staff Officer,DSP Bright Acheampong, has called on Ghanaians, particularly media practitioners to use their individual platforms and resources to support developmental projects within their institutions and communities.
According to DSP Acheampong, the development of Ghana cannot be left entirely in the hands of government, stressing that “governance is a collective effort” and requires the active participation of individuals and organisations.
He made the remarks when some media practitioners paid a courtesy call on him at his office to acknowledge his significant contributions and developmental initiatives within the Ghana Police Service.
DSP Acheampong’s Developmental Contributions

Speaking about some of the projects he has initiated and facilitated,DSP Acheampong highlighted a number of interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and working conditions within the Police Service.
Among them is the facilitation and initiation of the construction of a Police classroom block at the Patase Police Depot, which has been named after former Inspector-General of Police(IGP),ACP Akuffo Dampare.
He also mentioned the construction of the main entrance and exit gates at the Patase Police Depot,as well as the establishment of a Police Learning Centre, complementing the existing DSP Bright Acheampong Learning Centre,to provide additional space for training and accommodate newly recruited police officers.
DSP Acheampong further disclosed that he had provided chairs and a Polytank to support activities at the Patase Police Depot.

In collaboration with the Ashanti South Regional Police Commander,DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaaba,he also initiated and facilitated the construction of a tailoring shop at the Amangoase Police Station.
The facility, according to him,is expected to serve personnel from at least six district police commands, providing a practical service to support officers within the region.
Another project he highlighted is the construction of a conference room for the Ashanti South Regional Police Command, aimed at improving the Command’s capacity to organise meetings, conferences and other official engagements.
“Government Alone Cannot Do It All”
DSP Bright Acheampong urged the public not to underestimate the impact of individual contributions to national development.
He encouraged Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of giving back to their institutions, communities and society, noting that even modest personal contributions can make a meaningful difference when they are directed towards projects that benefit others.
He said individuals should not always wait for government intervention before taking steps to address developmental needs within their immediate environments.
According to him, acts of service and generosity can create lasting benefits and positively influence future generations.
He therefore encouraged the general public, businesses, professionals and other stakeholders to embrace the spirit of individual responsibility and contribute towards the development of Ghana.
DSP Acheampong expressed the hope that such collective efforts would not only improve institutions but also attract God’s blessings while leaving behind meaningful legacies for generations yet unborn.
