“Warning to Security Services Ahead of December 7 Elections

As Ghana prepares to go to the polls on December 7 to elect Members of Parliament and a President, we issue a stern warning to the security services: do not succumb to political pressure to engage in any actions that could spark violence or war in our beloved country.

Your primary responsibility is to protect human life and property, not to serve the interests of politicians, including the President. Any loss of life or property resulting from your actions will be deemed a direct consequence of your failure to uphold your duties.

We hold the President and top security officials accountable for any casualties that may occur. They will be charged with manslaughter if they fail to ensure the safety and security of Ghanaians.

We remind the security services that their loyalty lies with the people, not with politicians. They must remain impartial and committed to maintaining peace and order.

Let us work together to ensure a peaceful and democratic election process. The security services must prioritize the well-being of Ghanaians and protect our country from harm.”
