The African Foundation For Climate Change and Sustainable Development (AFCCSD), in collaboration with T-Del Foundation and Eco-Innova Foundation, has donated waste bins to Sowa Din Memorial Two JHS School at Ashale Botwe in Accra as part of renewed efforts to promote sanitation and climate consciousness in Ghana’s basic schools.

The gesture forms part of a broader campaign to instill proper waste management habits, enhance hygiene standards, and nurture environmental responsibility among young learners.
Receiving the items, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Mercy Appiah Kubi, expressed profound gratitude to the partnering organizations, describing the donation as both timely and impactful. She emphasized that sanitation remains a major challenge in many public schools and noted that the bins would significantly improve cleanliness on campus.

Executive Director of AFCCSD, Mr. Francis Aforve, reiterated that environmental education must begin at the grassroots level. According to him, schools are critical spaces for shaping attitudes toward sanitation, climate change, and sustainable development. He stressed that the partnership between the three organizations reflects a shared vision to build a generation that understands the strong link between proper waste disposal and climate resilience.

Representatives from Eco-Innova Foundation and T-Del Foundation further reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining collaborative initiatives that will promote cleaner, healthier, and environmentally responsible communities across Ghana.

The donation is expected to strengthen waste disposal practices within the school while fostering a lasting culture of cleanliness and environmental stewardship among pupils.
