Telecom giant outlines network expansion plans, fraud prevention measures and celebrates three decades of partnership with the media.

MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening digital connectivity and national development with a planned US$1.1 billion investment over the next three years, including US$380 million earmarked for 2026.
The announcement was made during MTN Ghana’s annual Media and Stakeholders Forum held at Ridge Condos in Kumasi, where journalists, editors and key stakeholders engaged with the company on its strategic priorities.
Speaking at the forum, the General Manager for MTN Ghana’s Northern Sector, Nii Adotey Mingle, highlighted the company’s growth since 1996, noting that Mobile Money has transformed financial inclusion while MTN continues to invest in network expansion, education, health and community development through the MTN Ghana Foundation.

He also urged customers to remain vigilant against fraud and verify suspicious messages through official MTN channels.

Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Angela Mensah-Poku, disclosed that the investment will support the construction of about 800 new network sites nationwide to improve coverage and service quality.
She praised the media for supporting MTN’s 30-year journey, describing journalists as key partners in telling the company’s story from its first call in 1996 to its ongoing 5G initiatives.
Mrs. Mensah-Poku added that MTN remains one of Ghana’s largest taxpayers and employers, contributing about 6% of the country’s total tax revenue, underscoring the company’s significant role in Ghana’s economic growth.
