Atwima Kwanwoma DCE, Grace Agyemang Asamoah, Vows to Run Effective Administration for District Development
Twedie, June 30, 2025- The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region, Honourable Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has reaffirmed her commitment to leading a results-driven and inclusive administration aimed at accelerating development across the district.
Speaking during the first ordinary meeting of the fifth Assembly held at the Assembly Hall in Twedie, Hon. Asamoah outlined her administration’s priorities, emphasizing effective governance, economic growth, social development, and environmental sustainability.
“As a leader in development, I believe that effective administration is the foundation for meaningful progress. I therefore urge all stakeholders, especially Assembly Members, to support me in delivering on the aspirations of our people through the policies outlined by government,” she stated.
In accordance with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), the DCE highlighted key development programmes earmarked for implementation. These include promoting unity and cooperation, addressing security and chieftaincy matters, and fostering community participation in governance.
Education and Health
Hon.Asamoah pledged to place strong emphasis on improving education in the district. She outlined plans for the expansion of educational infrastructure, provision of teaching and learning materials, and instituting incentive schemes for both teachers and students to improve academic performance and competitiveness.
On health, she assured the Assembly of her commitment to strengthening the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) system through infrastructural upgrades and provision of essential logistics to enhance healthcare delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement and Infrastructure
To ensure participatory governance, the DCE announced plans to hold regular consultations with key community stakeholders, including traditional leaders, private entrepreneurs, clergy, market women, and opinion leaders. “Active collaboration and engagement are crucial in building a vibrant and responsive local government,” she said.
She also revealed that the Assembly would embark on reshaping feeder roads across the district to improve transportation and facilitate the movement of goods and people.
Security and Safety
As part of efforts to enhance security, Hon. Asamoah disclosed plans to construct new police stations in selected communities, particularly in identified flashpoints, to ensure the safety and protection of residents.
The DCE concluded her address with a call for unity and collective effort in driving the district’s development agenda. “Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Atwima Kwanwoma,” she said.
On his part, the Honourable Member of Parliament for the good people of Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency, Mr. Kofi Amankwa-Manu, has called for unity and cordial relations to sustain the peace currently being enjoyed in the area, despite some challenges faced by the constituents.
According to him, if the people of Atwima Kwanwoma continue to uphold their strong sense of community and avoid divisive partisan politics, the constituency will witness significant developmental progress.
In a light-hearted manner, he playfully reminded one of his main competitors, Mr. Kwaku Kyei Ofori, to throw his support behind him as he seeks a third term as the party’s parliamentary candidate in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries.
