BAB MP SUPPORTS 20 YOUTH TO UNDERGO APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS:

Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai has implored the youth to take vocational apprenticeship programmes seriously to become economically self-sufficient.

The astute member of Parliament gave the admonition during an engagement with 20 new apprentices, comprising 13 fashion designers, 5 hairdressers and 2 make up artists at Bibiani.

The MP paid for the cost of the apprenticeship training programme totalling Twenty Thousand Cedis (Ghc20,000) and provided them with training kits including sewing machines, dryers and others.

He admonished the apprentices to work assiduously to become master craftswomen and also train the teeming youth upon graduation. He added that the apprentices should sacrifice and work with determination. “Throughout history, the path from apprentice to master craftsman has been a transformative and awe-inspiring journey, marked by dedication, skill development, and a deep commitment to the craft.”

The master craftswomen were also charged to be compassionate and loving in the discharge of their duties.

The MP said the training is part of government’s empowerment programme for the youth to contribute to economic development. He revealed that a considerable number of the youth have been trained through the TVET programme. It is note worthy that the MP has rolled out several batches of trainees as part of his entrepreneurship drive .

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the MP and promised to work hard to good use of the opportunity.
