Commanding the Future;MTN Ghana’s Project Mastery Shines at PMEA 2025

In a year where innovation and strategic execution have taken center stage, MTN Ghana has once again raised the bar for project excellence. The telecom giant emerged as a top winner at the 2025 Project Management Excellence Awards (PMEA), clinching four major honors, including the coveted Project Management Office (PMO) of the Year.

Held at the picturesque Aqua Safari Resort in Ada, the awards capped off the National Project Management Conference (NPMC), hosted by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana Chapter under the theme:
“Innovating for Prosperity: How Project Management Will Shape Ghana’s Economic Future.”

MTN Ghana’s wins weren’t just ceremonial—they were a resounding endorsement of a forward-thinking, execution-driven project ecosystem delivering real-world impact. The company was recognized in four key categories, each telling a compelling story of innovation, discipline, and strategic intent.

Telecom Project of the Year: NextGen MoMo App
MTN’s next-generation mobile money platform stole the show. Built on the company’s four tech pillars,Platforms, Ecosystems, Agility, and Customer Experience (PACE)—the app represents a transformative leap in digital finance. It enhances security, speed, and usability for millions of users, redefining mobile money for the future.

2nd Runner-Up, Project of the Year: Massive-MIMO Project
This project is quietly revolutionizing MTN’s network performance. By upgrading 4G infrastructure without new site builds, it increased data speeds by up to 8x in high-traffic regions like Greater Accra and Ashanti. It’s a masterclass in doing more with less, smart, scalable, and impactful.

At the event, Emmanuel Afutu, Senior Manager for Base Station Subsystems Implementation, accepted the awards on MTN’s behalf, paying tribute to the dedicated teams behind each milestone.

William Tetteh, Chief Transformation Officer, summed up the company’s approach:

“We don’t just manage projects—we manage outcomes. Everything we do is tied to customer value and strategic growth.”

In today’s fast-moving digital economy, project management has evolved beyond a technical skill,it’s a core driver of transformation. MTN Ghana’s performance at PMEA 2025 isn’t just a win for the company; it’s a bold statement that Ghanaian organizations can lead on the global stage, delivering projects that shape industries and empower communities.

From cutting-edge apps to intelligent infrastructure upgrades, MTN Ghana is proving that when vision meets execution, the results are transformative. The awards may be on the shelf, but the real reward is in the lives improved, networks enhanced, and futures enabled.
