DCE Confirmation: Assembly members accepted President’s nominee Prince Manu Moris as Amansie West DCE with 100% endorsement:
Prince Manu Moris has been confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Amansie west District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, following a successful vote that saw him secure a commanding 100 percent of the total valid votes cast.
The confirmation exercise took place under tight security on May 15, 2025, with personnel from the Ghana Police Service,Ghana fire service and the Ghana Immigration Service deployed to the to ensure peaceful event.
The move was seen as a precautionary measure to maintain peace and order, especially following recent opposition to Manu’s nomination.
According to www.dailywatchgh.com report, Moris polled 39 ‘Yes’ votes and Non of them voted ‘No’ out of 39 total votes cast by assembly members.
His confirmation vote surpasses that of his predecessor,Hon Nii Lartey Samuel Olenu, who secured 38 votes out of 38 when h was confirmed in 2017, the report said.
Despite some resistance from youth groups in the district, who opposed his nomination and protest to express dissatisfaction with Manu’s nomination, the confirmation process was conducted without incident.
Security presence remained visible throughout the event to ensure calm, the report added.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Manu Moris expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating him for the role.
He pledged to work diligently to accelerate development in the Amansie West district, emphasicing infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment as his top priorities.
“I am deeply humbled by the confidence reposed in me, and I assure the good people of Amansie west that I will work tirelessly to bring positive change and development to our communities,” the report said.
The Ashanti regional director for national service who represented the Ashanti regional minister,Mr Emmanuel Reagan Fynn who was present at the event, congratulated Moris on his confirmation and urged all assembly members to collaborate effectively with the new DCE.
He emphasised that unity and teamwork were essential for achieving development goals in the district.
