From Healthcare to Infrastructure: Kumawu Woraso Calls for Holistic Development
In a bold display of grassroots leadership, the Assembly Member for Kumawu Woraso, Hon. Maxwell Amponsah Doffour, has launched a free NHIS registration initiative, granting residents access to essential healthcare services. While the community celebrates this life-changing intervention, they are also drawing attention to another pressing concern, the deplorable state of local roads.
As residents benefit from improved healthcare access, they are urging the ruling NDC government and development stakeholders to prioritize infrastructure and address the poor road conditions that continue to disrupt daily life.
This dual focus on healthcare and infrastructure paints a clear picture,Kumawu Woraso is calling not just for help, but for holistic development that meets both immediate and long-term needs.
In response to the persistent challenges faced by his people, Hon.Maxwell Amponsah Doffour did not wait for central directives or lengthy bureaucracy. Instead, he took decisive local action, launching a free NHIS registration exercise to directly tackle the rising healthcare burden on residents.
Understanding that many families in Kumawu Woraso are unable to afford health insurance, Hon Doffour personally mobilized resources to ensure that the aged, children, pregnant women, and the financially vulnerable gained access to essential medical care without delay.
“When you lead, you act. My people deserve more than promises, they deserve solutions. This is just the beginning,” he said during the exercise.
While recognizing the broader issue of poor roads, Hon. Doffour emphasized that he remains committed to lobbying higher authorities to address the infrastructural gaps. He assured residents that their concerns have been heard and that plans are underway to engage the District Assembly and relevant ministries including the member of Parliament to accelerate road development projects.
“We are working hand-in-hand with stakeholders. Healthcare is one part, our roads must be fixed too. I’ll continue to be the voice of Kumawu Woraso,” he assured.
