When the storm of conflict seemed unending in Aboabo, a powerful voice of leadership stepped in to calm the waves. The Paramount Chief of the Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, has successfully restored peace between Rainforest Builder Ghana Limited and the Aboabo community after weeks of heightened tensions.
Why the Clash?

What surprised many was the calm and diplomatic tone of the dialogue. Each side-Rainforest Builder Ghana, the Forestry Commission, and community leaders was given the floor to air their concerns, while the crowd looked on with hope.
The meeting went beyond local grievances. Stakeholders condemned the wanton destruction of forests by illegal miners, with Ogyeahoho lamenting the devastation of a virgin forest at Bunkaso.
Authorities also promised to investigate,Brutal attacks on Merewa residents by thugs allegedly linked to Koantwi Mines.
The destruction of cocoa farms and violence against farmers, reportedly involving Forestry Commission officials.
These acts, they emphasized, were unacceptable and perpetrators would face justice.
