Queen Mother of Behenase Advocates for Stronger Parent-Child Relationships and Menstrual Hygiene Education

The Queen Mother of Atwima Behenase, Nana Hima Bena Tipa II, has called on parents to build stronger, more open relationships with their children—especially girls—to help prevent avoidable incidents and promote their well-being.

She stressed the importance of early moral education, encouraging parents to teach their daughters the essential do’s and don’ts of menstrual hygiene management. According to her, providing young girls with the right knowledge and support will pave the way for a brighter, healthier future.

Nana Hima Bena Tipa II made this known during the Annual Menstrual Hygiene Day celebration held at Behenase M/A School.

As part of her commitment to supporting girls in the community, she also pledged to finance the cost of sanitary pads for all students in Behenase, including those whose parents cannot afford them. This initiative is aimed at promoting menstrual health, reducing school absenteeism among girls, and ensuring that lack of hygiene products does not hinder any child’s education.
