Recognize Herbal Practitioners In Your Plans- Dr Sharp to Government:
Dr. Augustine Gyimah, CEO of Original Dr. Sharp Herbal Center, is advocating for the government to recognize the value of herbal practitioners in their plans. He believes that herbal medicine is a precious gift to Africa and should not be underestimated. This sentiment is echoed in the work of Dr. Sharp Herbal Center, which is committed to providing high-quality Ayurvedic products that promote good health.
By embracing herbal medicine, the government can tap into a rich tradition of natural healing that has been passed down through generations. This could lead to more holistic and inclusive healthcare solutions that benefit the entire community.
He made this know in an encounter with some media practitioners in Kumasi.
The herbal industry in Ghana is facing significant challenges that require urgent attention from the government and stakeholders.
He mentioned illegal mining and rampant use of weedicides as the two major issues disturbing their practices.
Illegal mining: Unregulated mining activities are destroying herbal farms and threatening the livelihoods of herbal practitioners.
Rampant use of weedicide , the widespread application of weedicides contaminating the soil and water, making it difficult for herbal plants to grow.
These challenges have been plaguing the industry for over a decade, and immediate intervention is necessary to prevent long-term damage.
He appealed to the he government and stakeholders must work together to regulate mining activities to protect herbal farm and promote sustainable agricultural practices to reduce the use of weedicide
According to him, time is due that government need to support herbal practitioners in developing sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices.
Dr Sharp suggested that, Ghana can preserve its rich herbal heritage and ensure the continued growth and development of the herbal industry by addressing these challenges.
