STOP PROPAGATING ELECTORAL VIOLENCE-MAHAMA WARNS ELECTORAL COMMISSION:

Former President John Mahama has issued a stern warning to the Electoral Commission (EC), urging them to “sit up” and “wake up” to avoid any confusion on Election Day.

Speaking during Greater Accra regional tour, Mahama emphasized the need for the Electoral Commission of Ghana to be vigilant and proactive in ensuring a smooth, transparent and violence free electoral process.

He stressed that any lapses or complacency on the part of the EC could lead to chaos and disputes on Election Day.

Mahama’s comments come amid growing concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.

With the country gearing up for crucial elections, the former President’s warning serves as a timely reminder of the need for the EC to be on its toes.

The EC has been urged to:

– Ensure accuracy and transparency in voter registration and verification
– Address any discrepancies or irregularities in the voter register
– Provide clear guidelines and training for polling station staff
– Ensure adequate security and logistics for Election Day

By heeding Mahama’s warning, the EC can help guarantee a peaceful and credible electoral process, maintaining the trust and confidence of the Ghanaian people.
