The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has paid an unannounced working visit to the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, engaging staff and community leaders while inspecting a number of ongoing development projects funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund for 2026.

The visit, described by many as timely and impactful, saw the Minister tour several critical infrastructure projects across the district.

Among the projects inspected were a 3-unit classroom block at New Adwampong, a 6-unit classroom block at Afasiebon D/A Basic School, as well as Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds at Nweneso No.1, Nweneso No. 3, and Asaago.

In addition, Dr. Amoakohene assessed progress on an office complex being constructed for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) and the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Foase. He also reviewed the development of 16 mechanized boreholes spread across the constituency, aimed at improving access to potable water for residents.

Road infrastructure was not left out, as the Minister took time to inspect several roads within the district, particularly those in dire need of rehabilitation and reconstruction. His assessment is expected to inform urgent interventions to enhance transportation and economic activities in the area.

Speaking after the tour, Dr. Amoakohene commended the District Chief Executive, Grace Asamoah Agyemang, for her commitment and diligence in driving development within the district. He noted that her leadership continues to play a crucial role in the effective utilization of the Common Fund.

The Minister also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for strengthening local governance and grassroots development through sustained support for the District Assemblies Common Fund.

The visit underscores government’s renewed focus on accountability and progress tracking, ensuring that public resources translate into tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.

Residents and stakeholders have welcomed the move, expressing optimism that such direct engagements will accelerate development and address pressing infrastructural challenges in the district.
