KONKORI CHIEF DECLARES WAR ON FILTH, PUSHES HEALTHCARE TO DOORSTEPS

As part of activities marking a decade of traditional leadership, the Chief of Konkori in the Atwima Kwanwoma District, Nana Addai Nimako II, has rallied his people to unite in the fight against filth and promote environmental cleanliness across the community and its surrounding areas.
The anniversary celebration, which highlights ten years since his enstoolment, was commemorated with a massive clean-up exercise organized by the Konkori Traditional Authorities. The exercise brought together residents from all walks of life, including youth groups, opinion leaders, and local stakeholders, all working collectively to improve sanitation in the area.
Addressing participants during the exercise, Nana Addai Nimako II emphasized that maintaining a clean environment remains one of his top priorities, noting that sanitation is directly linked to good health and community development. He stressed the need for continuous communal efforts to ensure that Konkori becomes a model for cleanliness within the district.



He further reiterated his commitment to improving healthcare delivery, revealing that one of his key visions is to ensure that quality healthcare services are brought closer to the people, making access easier and more affordable for residents.
“Sanitation is not the responsibility of a few people,it is the responsibility of all of us. If we keep our environment clean, we protect our health and secure a better future for our children. Over the past ten years, I have remained committed to development, and going forward, I want to ensure that healthcare is brought to the doorstep of every individual in Konkori and beyond.”

The clean-up exercise saw participants desilting gutters, sweeping streets, and clearing refuse dumps in key parts of the community. Many residents described the initiative as timely and impactful, especially in promoting awareness about the importance of environmental hygiene.
Some residents who spoke to the media commended the chief for his visionary leadership and dedication to development over the past decade.
“We are very proud of our chief. For ten years, he has shown strong leadership and brought a lot of development to this community. This clean-up exercise is just one example of how much he cares about our well-being.”
“Nana Addai Nimako II has done tremendously well. From sanitation to development projects, we have seen real change. We are ready to support him to do even more for Konkori.”
Residents also pledged their continued support to the chief, assuring him of their readiness to actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving sanitation and development in the area.




The 10th anniversary celebration is expected to feature a series of activities, including community engagement programs and development-focused initiatives, all aimed at strengthening unity and progress within Konkori and its environs.
