    Akwasidee Celebration;Otumfuo Wirempehene Stages Violence Free Elections Campaign

    As we are gradually approaching 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections,Otumfuo Wirempehene,Nana Opea Mensah II, has inderscored the critical need to refrain from electoral violence during before and after the this year’s general polls slated for 7th December.

    He called on all stakeholders of elections especially youth of today to focus on the core values of peace and unity as the nation heading to general polls to President and Parliamentary candidates.

    Ghana as a country will be forever recognizes in international world should we maintenance peace and unity that we all enjoying despite the current economic hardship facing the country.

    Otumfuo Wirempehene urged Ghanaians to adopt non-violent attitudes to foster an environment conducive to peaceful, free, and fair elections.

    In an interview with this medium www.dailywatchgh.com Wirempehene,Nana Opea Mensah Il,noted that,as Ghana prepares for these integral electoral processes, the specter of electoral violence looms large.

    Historically, elections in various parts of the world have been marred by chaos, intimidation, and violence, often resulting in loss of lives, destruction of properties, and the undermining of democratic institutions.

    However, he emphasized that Ghanaians have the potential to chart a different course—one that prioritizes dialogue, mutual respect, and collective progress.

    Wirempehene admonished the youth to be more dynamic to make positive change to impact generations in upcoming general elections.

    He insists that attitudes toward political competition must evolve beyond divisiveness and hostility. Instead of viewing opponents as enemies,

    On this note he encouraged Ghanaians to engage in constructive dialogue, recognizing that differing perspectives can coexist within a democratic framework.

    “Voting is not just a constitutional obligation; it is an opportunity for citizens to express their voices peacefully,” Nana Opea Mensah II, stated.

    “Let us channel our energies into advocating for our candidates without resorting to violence or hateful rhetoric since our nation’s future depends on how we conduct ourselves during this crucial time.”

    During voting walk peacefully to the polling centers, cast your votes peacefully and go back home or alternatively you can remain at the polling centers and monitor proceedings peacefully until the end of the exercise and go home also in peace.

    To support this vision, he suggested advocating for enhanced civic education initiatives that inform citizens about their rights and responsibilities within the electoral process.

    He indicated that by understanding the significance of voting, the nuances of electoral laws, and the dangers of electoral violence can empower individuals to participate actively and peacefully.

    Concluding he said as Ghana stands on the brink of another electoral season, the clarion call for non-violence and peaceful participation is more urgent than ever.

    Touching on illegal mining activities which has been number one challenge affecting them negatively in the area,Chief of Agroyesum in the Amansie South district,Nana Tabi Agyaben III, admonished illegal operators to do away from destroying water bodies ,trees among others.

    According to him,he again hinted that,the government New Patriotic Party-NPP may loose more votes in Amansie South district should the ruling Government failed to address the current poor road network problem which has been a major issue many people are discussing.
