Ghana has lost one of its greatest visionaries. Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the Founder and Leader of the Kristo Asafo Church and celebrated innovator, has passed away peacefully at the age of 76.

According to an official statement released by his family and the Kristo Asafo Church, the revered Apostle took his last breath on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Born in 1949, Apostle Safo rose to national prominence as a preacher, inventor, and philanthropist. Beyond his spiritual leadership, he was widely celebrated for his groundbreaking technological innovations through his company Kantanka Automobile, which produced Ghana-made cars, machinery, and electronic devices.

His vision was to prove that Africa could stand on its own in science, technology, and industrialization, while at the same time nurturing the faith of thousands through his Kristo Asafo ministry.

Throughout his life, Apostle Safo combined faith, innovation, and charity. He was credited with numerous inventions, from military hardware prototypes to locally manufactured vehicles, all designed to promote Ghanaian ingenuity.

His commitment to philanthropy also left a lasting mark. He supported education, health, and social development projects, often extending aid to the poor and vulnerable.

The Kristo Asafo Church has assured members and the public that details of funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
