AYD Break Silence Replies NDC Ascesion On Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo
As we are gradually approaching rerun election of Council of State representative in Ashanti region scheduled on Monday,17th February 2025,a group calling itselves, the Ashanti Youth for Development (AYD) has responded boldly to allegations made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo’s eligibility to contest in the Council of State representative elections. AYD claims these allegations are false and baseless, emphasizing that no one has the constitutional right to prevent Ayeboafo’s candidacy.
According to AYD, the Council of State elections are non-partisan, as stated in Article 89 of Ghana’s constitution. This means any qualified Ghanaian citizen can participate in the elections without being denied access.
Speaking in a press conference held today in Kumasi, the convenor of the group ,hon Emmanuel Nyanteng said,It’s worth noting that organizations like the National Youth Authority (NYA) and the Ashanti Regional Youth Network are working to empower young people and promote peaceful elections. The NYA, in particular, has been involved in various initiatives, including training entrepreneurs and promoting agriculture among youth in the Ashanti Region.
AYD’s response highlights the need for non-partisan and peaceful elections to ensure the country’s continued development.
In their Allegations on Wednesday 12th February edition of Ezra Adekyee with Reverend Aduanaba Kofi Asante as host ,a known Appiah Stadium and other NDC supporters in the region alleges that, they will do all what they can to eliminate Nana Nkansa Boadu Ayeboafo from contesting the nod.Again he is not qualify just because he has affiliation to the opposition New patriotic party NPP and was key financial of 2024 NPP fragbearer,Dr Bawumia campaign.
“We the Ashanti Youth for Developement humbly wish to state emphatically that,no one has constitutional right to prevent the choice of Assembly members and Ashanti region from race. Also the ruling National Democratic Congress NDC should stop dreaming for re-election since we know our assembly members have spoken on his favour with a leading votes of 47.
