The Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality on Friday witnessed a heartfelt and memorable ceremony as the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, delivered a powerful tribute in honour of the outgoing Municipal Director of Education, Madam Doris Ofori. The event, attended by traditional authorities, dignitaries, including the member of Parliament,education stakeholders,media practitioners and community members, was filled with appreciation, reflection, and deep admiration for a woman whose leadership has transformed education across the municipality.
Taking the podium, Hon. Agyemang Asamoah began her address with a warm salutation to honourable guests, Nananom, distinguished colleagues, and residents gathered for the occasion. She described the ceremony as a moment of unity, gratitude, and celebration for a remarkable public servant whose devotion to education has left an undeniable impact.
Delivering her tribute, the MCE praised Madam Doris Ofori for her unwavering commitment to the Atwima Kwanwoma Education Directorate throughout her years of service. She noted that during challenging times and periods of transition, Madam Ofori remained firm, focused, and anchored in ensuring the welfare of children across the municipality.
Hon. Agyemang Asamoah emphasized that Madam Ofori was not a leader confined to an office. Instead, she was a hands-on administrator,one who walked school corridors, visited classrooms unannounced, engaged directly with teachers and pupils, and made sure concerns were addressed promptly and effectively.
Championing Excellence Through Innovation
The MCE highlighted the numerous academic initiatives championed by Madam Ofori, including debates, spelling bees, writing competitions, and other intellectual activities that sharpened the confidence and skills of young learners. These programmes, she said, helped unlock the potential of pupils and revitalized the spirit of academic excellence in the district.
Hon. Agyemang Asamoah reaffirmed the tremendous progress recorded under Madam Ofori’s stewardship:
improved academic performance across schools,
increased enrolment,
stronger teacher morale, and
strengthened partnerships among schools, parents, and the wider community.
She praised the outgoing Director for bridging the gap between policy and practice and fostering collaboration between the Assembly and the Directorate.
According to the MCE, the true legacy of Madam Ofori does not lie in official documents but in the lives she touched,children whose futures she nurtured, teachers she mentored, and systems she strengthened with discipline, empathy, and dedication.
Hon. Agyemang Asamoah offered a heartfelt prayer, asking God to bless Madam Ofori with good health, peace, joy, and fulfilment as she retires from active service. She acknowledged the depth of her contributions and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Municipal Assembly, teachers, parents, students, and the entire Atwima Kwanwoma community.
To the incoming Director and staff, the MCE issued a call to uphold the virtues and standards set by Madam Ofori,discipline, integrity, teamwork, and dedication,as the municipality continues to build an educational system worthy of its children’s hopes and potential.

“You Will Be Missed, But Never Forgotten”
In her concluding words, Hon. Agyemang Asamoah celebrated Madam Ofori as a distinguished public servant whose name will remain etched in the history of Atwima Kwanwoma. She described her as a leader who embodied humility, hard work, and excellence.
The tribute ended with resounding applause as the MCE declared:
“Madam Doris Ofori, you will be missed, but you will never be forgotten. Ayekoo, and congratulations on a distinguished career.”

On her part, the outgoing Atwima Kwanwoma Municipal Director of Education, Madam Doris Ofori, expressed profound appreciation to the entire Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly for the tremendous support she enjoyed throughout her tenure. She extended special gratitude to both the current Hon Grace Agyemang Asamoah and former District Chief Executives,Hon Nana OkyereTawiah Antwi and Hon Prince Osei Tutu Karikari for their consistent collaboration, guidance, and encouragement, which she said greatly strengthened the municipality’s educational progress. Madam Ofori also acknowledged the traditional authorities for their wisdom and partnership in promoting community involvement in education. Additionally, she commended media practitioners within the district such as Ezra TV/ FM, Daily guide newspaper,and Kessben media among others for amplifying the Assembly’s educational initiatives and helping shape positive public engagement. She described her years of service as deeply fulfilling and thanked all stakeholders for the unity and commitment that made her administration successful.
