The Member of Parliament for the Atwima Mponua Constituency, Seth Osei-Akoto, has commended the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Adobewura Community Day School PTA for embarking on a major infrastructural development initiative aimed at improving education in the area.
The commendation came during an inspection of an ongoing girls’ dormitory and a four-unit female teachers’ quarters being constructed through a community self-help initiative spearheaded by the PTA.
The project is being championed under the leadership of Emmanuel Domfeh, who also serves as the Assembly Member for the Ntobroso Electoral Area.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Seth Osei-Akoto described the initiative as a shining example of how community-driven development can complement government efforts in improving educational infrastructure across rural communities.

According to the MP, the construction of the girls’ dormitory will help address accommodation challenges confronting female students while also encouraging more parents to enroll and retain their daughters in school. He added that the female teachers’ quarters would improve staff welfare and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
“This initiative demonstrates the power of unity and communal spirit in advancing education. When communities take responsibility for development, it accelerates progress and inspires others to do same,” the MP stated.
Hon. Osei-Akoto further pledged his continuous support to the school and assured stakeholders of his commitment to lobby for the institution to attain full boarding status in the near future.
He also took the opportunity to encourage candidates preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to remain focused, disciplined, and determined to excel in their academic pursuits.
Teachers and administrative staff of the school expressed profound appreciation to both the PTA executives and the Member of Parliament for their unwavering support and dedication toward the growth of the institution.
Residents and education stakeholders within the area have since praised the initiative, describing it as a model self-help project capable of transforming educational development in deprived communities.
Notably, the current PTA leadership, which assumed office less than eight months ago, has already earned admiration for its visionary leadership and commitment to improving conditions at the school through practical developmental interventions.
The Adobewura project is increasingly being viewed as a strong reminder that community participation remains a critical pillar in Ghana’s educational development agenda, especially in underserved rural areas where infrastructure deficits continue to affect teaching and learning.
