Education Is Your Power-Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II Charges Ghanaian Youth

The President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, has issued a powerful call to Ghana’s youth to make education the driving force of their future, describing it as the most reliable path to success in the modern world.
Speaking at a colourful ceremony at Bibiani Senior High Technical School in the Western North Region, he expressed deep gratitude to the municipality and the nation for their support during the Eluo Festival. He emphasised that education remains the strongest tool for personal transformation and meaningful national development.
His address came during the launch of a legacy project by the school’s 1992 year group,an E-learning facility designed to benefit both the school and the broader municipality. Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II praised the old students for their initiative and urged them to ensure timely completion of the project, to which he contributed both cash and materials.

Highlighting local challenges, the paramount chief noted that the Anhwiaso Traditional Area has limited land space, much of it occupied by mining giants such as Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd, Asante Gold Chirano Ltd, Awaso Bauxite Company Ltd, and Koantwi Mines at Anhwiaso East/South. He added that Rainforest Builders, tasked with restoring degraded forests, has also begun operations, further restricting access to farmlands. These issues, worsened by climate change, he said, continue to hamper farming activities in the area.
In light of these constraints, he urged young people to take their studies seriously, especially ICT, Science, and Mathematics, which he described as the engines of modern education and global advancement. He also highlighted the Ogyeahoho Education Foundation, which supports brilliant but needy students.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II encouraged parents to prioritise their children’s education, stressing that it remains the greatest investment and legacy any parent can offer.
The event brought together several dignitaries, including the MCE for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, the CEO of Divine Anchor, the CEO of Divine Lodge, the Board Chairman of the school, the Headmaster, staff, PTA executives, Nana Bonyah III, and members of the 1992 year group, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
